Welcome!

Hello Readers!

This is the first post in a new blog that I have decided to write on life as a Doctoral Student, Freelancer, Teacher, etc.

My wonderful viola professor during my DMA, Dan Sweaney, has a saying in the studio. “Any confessions to Saint Bratsche?” for when we need to confess how we have practiced…or not.. Or whatever the case may be. I have always found this turn of phrase endearing, so that’s the working title of the blog!

Saint Cecilia (1606)- Considered to be the Patron Saint of Musician. A little inspiration for St. Bratsche

Guido Reni (Italian, 1575-1642)

This blog will be part reflections, part instructional, part just sharing what’s going on in the life. There are many wonderful viola writers out there and I hope you read them! More info to come on that.

Happy Reading!

Douglas
