Any amount is much appreciated!
Hello!
This summer, I’ve been invited to participate in a two-week chamber music program in France, with performances and study in both Provence and Paris. As a doctoral student in viola performance at the University of South Carolina and a young professional, this program is a major step forward in both my artistic and academic journey. I’ll be working alongside exceptional musicians from across the country—including pianists, violinists, and the graduate string quartet from USC—as we perform six concerts and dive deeply into the rich world of French chamber music.
This opportunity is also deeply connected to my doctoral research on the French viola school and the legacy of Maurice Vieux. Being able to study and perform this repertoire in the country where it was born—while also experiencing the culture that shaped it—is something truly special.
The program tuition is $6,999. I’ve received a $2,500 scholarship for tuition and am waiting to hear about some grants that I have applied for from USC. I also need to cover Air Fair and any expenses while I am there.
I’m reaching out now to ask if you’d consider supporting this journey by making a contribution of any amount. Every dollar will go directly toward tuition and expenses and help me bring this dream within reach.
Your encouragement, mentorship, and generosity mean the world to me—and I look forward to bringing back everything I learn to share with my students, colleagues, and community.
Musically Yours,
Douglas
